05-05-2010: “First inventory of damage in city centre”
City of Athens crews have begun to
repair the extensive damage caused to the city centre today.
An initial inventory of damage
confirmed vandalism of the main fountain and all marble benches on Syntagma
Square, while major damage has been caused to street pavements, marble fixtures
and road signs in the city centre.
04-05-2010: “Citizens urged to keep garbage indoors due to strike action”
The City of Athens requests
that all citizens refrain from using municipal garbage bins to dispose of their
household waste until Friday, May 7, as the Ano Liossia landfill in Fylis, Attica will remain closed due to strike action.

celebrate life!". Athens Municipal Creche Childcare Centres are organizing a
major Mother's Day celebration on Sunday, May 9, 2010, at the Agricultural University
of Athens (75 Iera Odos, Votanikos).
With the support of the City of
Athens and the Agricultural University of Athens, this year children will
celebrate mother's special day with Greece's Eurovision representative Yiorgos
Alkeos and Friends.
