The Hellenic Parliament Foundation for Parliamentarism and Democracy organizes the exhibition titled "The Dictatorship of the Colonels, 1967-1974: Seven Years of Darkness" (Amalias 14, Syntagma).

The exhibition celebrates the anniversary of 40 years since the Restoration of Democracy in Greece and was inaugurated by the President of the Hellenic Parliament Mr Evaggelos Meimarakis on Wednesday 19th November 2014.

The visitor, adult or student, has the opportunity to choose his own way of touring around the exhibition and follow the course of the exhibits throughout their timeline, but also investigate, explore and retrieve on his own more information through the archival material that is available in especially designed work units. Pictures, photos, printed matters, holographs, documents, posters, and audiovisual proofs, make "the dark aspects of the seven-year period" more eminent and emphasize the abolishment of the democratic regime and the violation of the human rights and civil liberties. In parallel, the exhibition focuses on the organized resistance abroad and the international support of the anti-dictatorship "struggle" in foreign countries.

The exhibits and proofs originate from the Greek and foreign archives, state and private, such as the Library of the Hellenic Parliament, the Contemporary Social History Archives, the Benaki Museum, the Public Radio and Television Archive, the General State Archives, the Hellenic Literary and Historical Archive, the Gennadius Library, and many other private collections.
