18th Athens International Film Festival OPENING NIGHTS
This year, from the 19th until the 30th of September, the capital's favorite cinema institution launches a very promising new collaboration with COSMOTE. Its name changes into Athens International Film Festival Opening Nights COSMOTE while it celebrates its coming of age with 12 days full of cinema and fun in the movie theaters Odeon Opera 1 & 2 (57 Akadimias Street), Danaos 1 & 2 (Kifisias Avenue 109) and Ideal (46 Panepistimiou Street).

A Greek initiative for Europe's youthGreek culture shares a strong bond with the Olympic spirit, given Greece is the origin of the Ancient Olympic Games, while Athens was the host-city of the first Modern Olympic Games in 1896, and welcomed the Olympics once more in 2004. It is precisely this bond that "Mathitiada" - a Greek educational non-profit organization focusing on culture and sports (www.mathitiada.gr) - aims at highlighting, by organizing the program "From Athens to London: Shape Your Future".
