28-05-2010: "Mobile phone mast removal operation enters third phase"
The City of Athens is continuing with the removal of
illegally-installed mobile phone masts from all Athens neighbourhoods, with the aim of
safeguarding public health. The Municipality's Town Planning Department has already
removed 50% of illegally-installed masts it has documented, following orders
issued by Athens Mayor Nikitas
Kaklamanis and on the basis of irrevocable court decisions.

Kaklamanis made the following statement on the occasion of the Parliamentary
plenary session concerning the Interior Ministry bill "New architecture of
local government and decentralized administration - Kallikratis Programme".
27-05-2010: "Beach Volleyball on Syntagma Square"
The nation's most centrally-located square, Syntagma Square, will host a Beach
Volleyball Tournament for the first time, with the Greek Parliament serving as
the backdrop.
Over the course of
five days, from June 2 to 6, spectators and Athens city centre visitors will be
able to admire Greek and international players of summer's most popular sport
and enjoy a unique spectacle.
25-05-2010: "Municipality and Euromedica to collaborate on provision of free medical tests for Athens’ homeless"
The City of Athens
and medical group Euromedica today signed a Memorandum of Understanding and Cooperation
concerning the complimentary provision of medical laboratory tests to Athens' homeless
individuals.
