The "Athina Health" Addiction Prevention and Healthcare Treatment Centre promotes the provision of support, awareness-raising actions and information to students, parents and educators and provides prevention and counselling services, in cooperation with and under the supervision of the Organisation Against Drugs (ΟΚΑΝΑ).

Within this context, four substance use prevention centres operate and carry out the following responsibilities:

• Provision of prevention, counseling and support, information and awareness-raising services
• Initiatives to assist City of Athens school students to develop skills designed to prevent addictive behaviour and to support the role of parents and educators as adults who can assist youngsters as they grow up

At the same time, the centres offer services including:

• Provision of emergency assistance and psychological support to substance users and other individuals via telephone
• Referral of substance users for admission to drug rehabilitation programmes. They collaborate directly with therapy programmes which operate throughout Greece
