Kamishibai: Paper Theater
Educational Program for children aged 4-7 yrs
Every Sunday from January 29th until February 19th 2012, from 11:00 until 12:30 at Herakleidon Museum in Athens, Greece, Vasilia Vaxevani will be unfolding stories from all over the world, using the kamishibai* technique, precursor of Japanese comics. Together, the children will create their own "paper theater".
In each 1,5 hour workshop, Vasilia will be narrating different stories using the kamishibai technique and then children:
will create their own kamishibai cards in order to tell their stories
will make their own box-kamishibai theater
will make-develop their characters
Ages: Children aged 4-7 yrs
Duration: 1,5 hrs
Time: 11:00 - 12:30
Total Program Duration: 4 Sundays, from 29-1-12 until 19-2-2012, with possibility of repetition since the stories vary. Last Sunday of every month, the workshop will be open to parents, who will create and present along with their children their own kamishibai narration.
