08-02-2010: “Athens Mayor to make official trip to Egypt’s Alexandria”
Athens Mayor Nikitas Kaklamanis heads a City
of Athens delegation that will undertake an
official visit to Alexandria,
Egypt, from
tomorrow, Tuesday, February 9, through Thursday, February 11, on the invitation
of Alexandria Governor, General Adel Labib. The delegation will visit the
Egyptian city in order to attend a ceremony in which Sharm El Sheikh Street
will be renamed Constantine P Cavafy Street.
Mayor Kaklamanis will be accompanied by Deputy Mayor for
International Relations Sophie Mytilineou-Daskalaki, Deputy Mayor for Town
Planning Nikos Avramidis
and Athens City Councillors Rigas Axelos and Zoi Valasi.
As part of the official visit, Mayor Kaklamanis will
meet with Theodoros II, Pope and Patriarch of Alexandria and All Africa,
tomorrow at 12:00, and attend the street naming ceremony honouring Constantine
P Cavafy on Wednesday, February 10, at 12:00.
