A permanent exhibition focusing on Elaionas and the Votanikos-Alexandras Avenue twin urban regeneration project was launched on May 12, 2009.

The exhibition features photographs, designs and videos depicting:
  • The development of the Elaionas locality in historical and town-planning terms
  • The actual situation in the area of Elaionas, which falls under City of Athens administration, the planning design which is already being implemented and the projects that have been undertaken by the Municipal Authority
  • The Votanikos-Alexandras Avenue Twin Urban Regeneration project is presented at the end

The candidate that will represent Greece in the 10th European Jazz Festival in Athens, organized by City of Athens "Technopolis" from May 25 to 29, 2010, will be selected by a four-member committee that consists of: Yiorgos Katsaros (City of Athens Music Ensembles chairman), Yiannis Terezakis (City of Athens Big Band conductor), Yiorgos Haronitis (Jazz & Jazz magazine editor) and Pantazis Tsaras (music producer).

Those interested can submit their applications and enclose a CV and a CD or demo of their work from Monday, February 8 to Wednesday, March 31, 2010 to: City of Athens "Technopolis", 100 Pireos St, Post Code 118 54, Athens, marked "To participate in the 10th European Jazz Festival.

"George Savakis: Images from old Athens" is the title of the retrospective painting exhibition of the renowned artist, organised by City of Athens "Technopolis".

The City of Athens Cultural Organization and the newspaper "Avgi" present the visual arts exhibition "12 Young Visual Artists", IV which takes place for the fourth consecutive year at the City of Athens Cultural Centre "Melina".

The 12 artists that take part in this exhibition, have presented their work, for a month, through the texts of "Anagnosis", the slip for the book of Sunday's Avgi in an effort named "Painter of the month".

Childhood is one of the favourite subjects of artists and is the central theme of the painting exhibition by Maria Vaxevanoglou - Skandali, presented by the City of Athens Cultural Organization.

The protagonist is the child in important stages of his development. The child that grows up playing or even better, the child that plays to grow up. The exhibition consists of 50 paintings in which the painter displays experiences of a time in the far past, the way we lived through these experiences as children are engraved on our minds. She uses temperas, acrylic and frescos.

he exhibition "Even if none of them takes you away..." by Xenofodas Zervos, is a unique voyage on water that consists of hand made wall ships and will be presented by the City of Athens Cultural Organization.

Xenofodas Zavos uses strictly wood that has been washed up by the sea, or peaces of wood from deserted boats and old metallic objects, wires, screws, tools, and creates wall ships, mainly based on designs of classic merchant crafts early in the last century.

The play "The pool (no water)" by controversial British playwright Mark Ravenhill, opens for the first time in Greece by theatre company "Protes Iles".

This is one of Mark Ravenhill's recent productions, written in 2006 in collaboration with leading British theatre company "Frantic Assemply" that led the way to the so-called "physical theatre". Inspired by a true story, the play exposes artistic rivalry, jealousies and the innermost thoughts that come to surface exactly at the right time.

A rich heiress, disguised as a man, comes to the Castle of the Countess in order to get to know better the feelings and the character of a noble man, whom she is almost married to through letter writing, obeying to her family's wishes. There, many surprises await her. The Countess falls in love with her and her future husband confesses his real plans. The truth comes out soon.
