10th European Jazz Festival at “Technopolis”: Selection of Greek representative 08/02/2010 - 31/03/2010 The candidate that will represent Greece in the 10th European Jazz Festival in Athens, organized by City of Athens "Technopolis" from May 25 to 29, 2010, will be selected by a four-member committee that consists of: Yiorgos Katsaros (City of Athens Music Ensembles chairman), Yiannis Terezakis (City of Athens Big Band conductor), Yiorgos Haronitis (Jazz & Jazz magazine editor) and Pantazis Tsaras (music producer). Photography group exhibition “I feel…” 17/02/2010 - 28/02/2010 The City of Athens Cultural Organization and the Organization for the Intellectual Property of Photographers "Foivos" present the photography group exhibition "I feel...". The exhibition aims in promoting the creative work by the members of the Organization "Foivos". The photographs presented were taken either in the framework of their professional activities such as reports, the depiction of landscapes and fashion or from the creative part of their profession. Launch: February 24, 19:30 “12 Young Visual Artists” IV 25/02/2010 - 10/03/2010 The City of Athens Cultural Organization and the newspaper "Avgi" present the visual arts exhibition "12 Young Visual Artists", IV which takes place for the fourth consecutive year at the City of Athens Cultural Centre "Melina". The 12 artists that take part in this exhibition, have presented their work, for a month, through the texts of "Anagnosis", the slip for the book of Sunday's Avgi in an effort named "Painter of the month". Opening: Thursday 25 February 2010, time 19:30 Music and dance performance by the “Vakhes” Center for Traditional Dance and Percussion Instruments 28/02/2010 - 20:30 Following the paths of music and dance that god Dionysus traced, he sends his loyal attendants, the Vakhes, to entice the soul of man and make him drunk with his wine, as well as the land of Greece with his dancing, in the summer of 1997 we embarked on a music and dance journey in the rhythms and melodies of modern Greece! We were inspired by tradition and identified with these loyal attendants of Dionysus Vakhos, in an attempt to preserve Greek tradition with dances and rhythms from today and the past.
