Atmospheric Pollution

It is a fact that, in recent years, atmospheric pollution has decreased and air pollutant emissions exceed safety limits less frequently.

Nevertheless, we must all make a concerted effort to reduce atmospheric pollution and greenhouse gas emissions, such as carbon dioxide.

Minimising motor vehicle use and instead choosing to travel on public transport results in lower environmental impact and increased ecoomic benefits.

The use of alternative energy sources, particularly natural gas, leads to lower pollutant emissions.

The City is looking into the use of natural gas to meet the energy demands of municipal buildings.

The Municipal Authority aims for new municipal buildings to be designed in accordance with bioclimatic planning principles and incorporate photovoltaic systems in order to make use of solar power for their energy needs.
